Stage 1 Program
The Stage 1 program introduces students to the distinctive approach that InterProd has created to the art of interpretation. An approach that blends theatre and interpretive techniques and practices that emphasizes all aspects of the performance process.
The basic philosophy of InterProd is that the Interper is a combination of all of the jobs and functions that are utilized in a theatre. Through Lectures and exercises, students will be guided through the process of creating their own interpretive production company. This process starts with a mission statement and continues to be developed throughout the entire process of putting together a production. From the Dramaturge to the Marketing Director, InterProd is not just another camp that gives a student a piece and little else. InterProd is an institution that provides students with an experience that they will utilize and draw from far beyond their high school competitive careers.
Stage 1 will also give students a chance to participate in Guerilla Interp performances put together by the Stage 2 program. This unique form of interpretation combines Guerilla Theatre and Interpretation together to culminate into a very moving and wonderfully innovative art form. An one of a kind, Interpretive Production.
Stage 1 is administered by Director, David Kraft and run by Senior Faculty member, Christopher Wilgos, Director of Theater at University School, FL. Along with a top notch supporting staff, Stage 1 is a summer institute experience like no other.
