About Interprod
July 18th-August 1st, 2010! Reserve your spot! The name says it all! We chose the name “Interpretive Productions” because it represents the philosophical approach we use when creating performances. IP believes that there is very little difference between theater and interpretation. With this, it is important that the Interper must pay attention to the details of the entire production, not just the character.
IP uses play production as its model. Students will study the various roles that are played when producing a theatrical production. They will study the responsibilities of the Director, Costume/Set/Lighting Designer, Dramaturge, etc. Once the areas have been identified and explained, the IP student will apply each area to their production. The goal is to provide the student with production method that they can use every time they create a new production.
IP also focuses on developing the student’s technical skills. Through a series of exercises, students will get a chance to improve their skills with character exchanges and pops, creating an environment, continuation of action and other technical problems facing the interper.Other areas that will be covered include: The Psychology of Competition, Building a Bond With the Audience, Creating a Preparation Process, Speech as Theatre, Developing Method, Developing Strategy, Creating a Social Argument in Interp, Understanding Regional Differences, and many others.
